Interest waiver for differently-abled persons

Chief Minister N.Rangasamy today announced waiver of interest totalling Rs 1.75 crores due from differently abled persons under several loan schemes implemented to promote self-employment projects for them.
Addressing a fuction of International Day of Disabled organised here, he said the loans as such could not be waived. He said the interest component would be waived so that the burden on the differently abled persons could be lessened.
He also said the monthly assistance given to the differently abled persons would be raised under different categories.
