IOB beats Indian Army, wins PSG Trophy basketball tourney

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) defeated Indian Army 77-59 today in the final of the 53rd All India Basketball tournament for men to annexe the PSG Trophy.
The match was a close affair till the third quarter, when the score read 54-51 in favour of the bankmen.
However, Chennai-based IOB went on the offensive in the last quarter with its players scoring quickly to cruise margin of 18 points 77-59.
Pratham Singh top-scored for the winners with 23 points, with Aravind contributing 16 points and Prasanna Venkatesh 15. For the Army team, Isaac Thomas (18) and Jeetendra Singh (11) did the bulk of the scoring.

In the match to decide the third and fourth places, Punjab Police beat Vijaya Bank of Bengaluru 95-77.
