IPS officer murder case: Prosecution witness disowns statement
On the second day of trial in the case, during cross examination by accused Manoj Gurjar's lawyer, eyewitness Dilip Shivhare denied that he was present at the site in Morena district, where the officer was killed allegedly by sand mining mafia on March 8 this year.
"Ye ghatna mere samne nahin hui, main ek hotel me tha us waqt (the incident did not happen/occur before me, I was in a hotel at that time)," Shivhare told the court.
He contended that he had earlier recorded a statement before a magistrate during preliminary investigation, "under fear and pressure" of Banmore police station in-charge CBS Raghuvanshi.
Shivhare, who runs a transport business, said he has several criminal cases pending against him in Banmore police station and alleged that its incharge warned that he would be externed, if he did not make the desired statement in the case.
Meanwhile, Jainarayan Soni, one of the doctors who had performed the postmortem of the deceased IPS officer, also deposed before the court.
The viscera report and DVD prepared during postmortem were opened and tabled before the special judge as a documentary evidence.
During cross examination by the defense counsel, Soni told the court that police had asked the doctors' team to make a DVD recording of the procedure.
