J&K: ISO-certified police station gets Police Reception Centre

The ISO-certified police station in Poonch district today got a 'Police Reception Centre' for better co-operation between the public and police.
Built with an aim to provide first-hand information to people regarding various public delivery services conducted by the police, the centre was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana.
This is a unique initiative undertaken by district police of Poonch in order to enhance police-public co-operation by providing free of cost services to the society, he said.
Rana accompanied by Ashok Kumar, Atri DIG conducted a tour of the district and started one-day medical camp at District Police Line (DPL) Poonch in which 278 police personnel were medically examined by a team of doctors from the district hospital.

Thereafter the IGP held a darbar of police personnel at the police line and listened to the grievances of police personnel that included regularization and enhancement of honorarium of Special Police Officers (SPOs), quota in police recruitment for the ward of serving and retired police personnel and other welfare related issues.
The top official assured the personnel that most of the projections are already under active consideration of higher formations, central and state government.

Rana also complimented the good work done by the district police in handling various law and order issues, anti-militancy front and rescue and evacuation of the civilians trapped near the river slide prone areas during recent flash floods.

IGP impressed upon the personnel to work with sincerity and dedication and maintain good police-public relations.
SSP Poonch Jatinder Singh Johar also had a word of appreciation for the forces and thanked the IGP for the visit.
Rana along with other police officers also interacted with prominent citizens at Dak Bungalow Poonch.
