On the directions of the Uttarakhand High Court, CBI has registered a case of alleged kidnapping of a girl with the intention of forceful marriage, nearly six years after she went missing from Dehradun.
A case has been registered against a person named as Pawan Raj under section 363 and 366 of Indian Penal Code which relates to kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman for marriage.
The FIR has been registered on the directions of Uttarakhand High Court, the CBI spokesperson Kanchan Prasad said.
It is alleged that Himshikha went missing from December 12, 2009 and was last seen with Raj at a Satkar Hotel in Dhanaulty.
Relatives of Himshikha had demanded a CBI probe into the matter after local police failed to track her.
