The trade unions have given a call for a two-day strike from February 21 in favour of their 10-point charter of demands.
About 11 trade unions including CITU, INTUC, AITUC and organisations linked by insurance and banking sector are likely to participate in the strike, Indian Trade Union Congress (INTUC) General Secretary Thakur Raghubir Singh Chib said in the meeting.
The trade unions decided to hold a one-day convention at Jammu on February 7 and start awareness campaigns at offices and other work places to inform maximum possible people about their demands, he added.
The major demands include checking of price hike, job protection, enforcement of labour laws and social security for unorganised workers, Chib said.
