The 36-year-old actor, who starred in the original film as Alien, a rapper and drug dealer, took to his Instagram account yesterday to tell fans the sequel to the controversial 2013 film "is not being done with Harmony Korine or my consent. It will be a horrible film."
The Korine-directed movie revolved around four young women, played by Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, and the director's wife Rachel Korine, who have a wild spring break, which takes a turn for the dramatic after a cocaine binge, robbery, and ensuing arrest, reported Us magazine.
He said producers behind the follow-up are "capitalizing on that innovative film to make money on a weak sequel," and urged "everyone to know that whoever is involved in the sequel is jumping on board a poison ship."
The production team has already clarified that the original cast is not returning for the sequel.
The sequel was announced last week by the French sales and distribution company Wild Bunch and Los Angeles-based Muse Productions.
The new film 'Spring Breakers: Second Coming' will be directed by Jonas Akerlund from a script by Scottish writer Irvine Welsh.
