S C Jamir, Takatula passed away yesterday after a brief illness.
She was 103 and survived by 4 sons and three daughters and host of grand children.
A short funeral service was held at Dimapur and the body was later taken to her native village, Ungma where she was buried today.
Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang has expressed deep grief at the demise of Takatula, a person having Christian values, and said all those who met her or knew her spoke highly of her.
Expressing sadness, Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio described Takatula a woman of firm character and enormous strength.
