"Jharkhand has a sprawling multi-sports complex in Ranchi but it was not functioning in a proper manner," Das said while inaugurating D P International Swimming Academy equipped with first mini-olympic size swimming pool of the country at Danga near here.
"We have plan to set up the sports university in the sports complex. I have already directed the officials to look into it and take necessary steps to establish the sports university soon," Das who was here to take part in a few functions said.
An International Swimmer, Deepak Kumar Singh, the brain behind setting up the academy, said they have plan to train and develop 17 sports events including a well-equipped gym, judo, karate, tennis, billiards in three phases to produce international level sportspersons.
