Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today presented a 24-point agenda in a bid to end the alleged discrimination with the Jammu region as the party held a people's assembly here.
JKNPP chief Prof Bhim Singh presented what he termed as the "Magna Carta" of Jammu Pradesh which contained 24 point agenda for redressing the problems of the people of Jammu region.
"There is total disappointment about the performance of the BJP-PDP government as the Assembly felt the government has failed on all fronts and has no right to continue," Singh said.
The agenda included reorganization of the state, amendment of article 370 (special status to Jammu & Kashmir), eradication of article 35-A from the Indian Constitution, holding delimitation of the Assembly constituencies, among others.
It also demanded a comprehensive settlement with restoration of civil rights to the 15 lakh refugees from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) residing in the state for the past 67 years.
Prof Singh called for the removal of all forms of discrimination with the people of Jammu Pradesh.
The first ever People's Assembly of Jammu Pradesh was attended by representatives of several political parties and civil society.
The participants included lawyers, media persons, intellectuals who pledged to uphold sovereignty, unity and integrity of India vis-a-via J&K besides continuing battle against all forms of injustice, discrimination and militancy.
