Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today accused the PDP-BJP government of showing "disrespect" to soldiers killed in the line of duty and demanded immediate grant of ex-gratia to their families.
"We are dismayed over the BJP-PDP government's denial of ex-gratia to the families of martyrs. The incumbent government is showing disrespect to the bravehearts who laid down their lives for the flag and honour of the nation," JKNPP Chairman Harsh Dev Singh told reporters here.
He alleged that while other states of the country had announced ex-gratia for the next of the kin of deceased soldiers, the "saffron-flavoured government of the state was the only exception to the general rule".
He hit out at the government for not having any "policy to give ex-gratia to the families of martyrs".
