Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) President, Sukhdeo Bhagat today demanded an inquiry into report of a patient allegedly served food on the floor of a reputed hospital ward in the state capital on Wednesday last.
"The incident exhibits the BJP-led government's insensitivity, inhuman approach," Bhagat, who was in the steel city to take part in a rally to be held tomorrow said.
The rally was aimed to remind Chief Minister Raghubar Das of his promises made to accord ownership right to residents living in 123 bustees (slums) in his home constituency in the steel city.
Coming to the report, Bhagat said, "Let the government order a probe by any senior official of the state".
There were media reports about a patient Palmati Devi, who had a fractured arm, hadving been served food on floor on Wednesday as no plate was available in the hospital at that time.
The state capital is considered as a mirror of the state and the ugly incident had occurred in most reputed Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi on Wednesday last, he said.
The incident was a "black spot" on the functioning of the state government, Bhagat said while demanding the government should fix accountability of the responsible officials and punish them.
