The major demonstration was held at JuD headquarters in Chauburhi Lahore in which a large number of JuD and Falah-e-Insaniat activists participated.
Holding banners and placards inscribed with 'Hafiz Saeed - Pakistan's Defender - Mian-Modi friendship - unacceptable' they demanded immediate release of Saeed and resignation of Asif.
Addressing the demonstration in Lahore, JuD leader Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki threatened to hold a 'long march' towards Islamabad if Saeed was not released.
Asif had told the audience at the Munich Security Conference last Sunday that "Saeed can pose a serious threat to society." He had said Saeed has been placed under house arrest in the country's "larger interest".
Other demonstrations were held in Islamabad, Faislabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Quetta, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad and Kotli.
