91-year old Karunanidhi, who had been associated with the film industry for several decades being a script writer, said he congratulated the winners.
"I appeal that those who won the polls and those who lost to forget the differences and unite for the growth of the association," he told reporters.
Young actor Vishal Reddy-led team virtually swept the polls yesterday, capturing all five top posts, including those of general secretary and president, ousting the team of R Sarath Kumar, MLA.
Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council extended its greetings to the newly elected members. "Let's unite and win together", it said in a statement.
