A press conference of Aam Aadmi Party was today disrupted by some residents of Kaushambi area who alleged that the party volunteers are causing inconvenience to them by parking their vehicles outside their houses.
As the press meet of party leader Yogendra Yadav which was being held on the road was at its fag end, a man in his 30s, started shouting alleging that the party workers were blocking the entrance of his house with their cars.
"The party workers park their vehicles outside our house. My grandfather is a heart patient and it becomes difficult to drive him out in case of emergency. Whenever I raise objection they threaten me," Kaushambi resident, Pawan Malhotra, who claimed to be an oncologist said.
Another resident Harbhajan Singh (64), who stays few meters away from the AAP's office in Kaushambi said, "I suffered a heart attack last week and it was difficult for my family to take my vehicle out during the emergency. Even now when I ask the AAP workers not to park vehicles outside my house, they threaten me."
Another resident Vijay Bharadwaj said that he had to hire a security guard to stop the volunteers from parking their cars outside his house.
"Still it becomes difficult to manage the situation," Bharadwaj said.
When contacted, party spokesperson Deepak Vajpayee said the volunteers usually travel in Metros, but since the membership drive is going a large number of people are coming at the office.
"We are looking into the matter and we will ensure that the problem is solved," he said.
