BJP's Kerala President V Muraleedharan today flayed CPI(M) over its stand on conversions stating that the left party was adopting "double standards" on the issue.
"CPI(M)'s stand, which finds fault with the return of people, who once converted to other religions on pressure and inducements, to Hindu fold, is to appease minorities and create division in society," he said in a release here.
Stating that BJP was of the view that all kinds of forcible conversions should be banned, Muraleedharan also asked CPI(M) to make its stand clear on the alleged forcible conversions in the country using foreign funds.
CPI(M) has said there was no need for a separate anti-conversion law as there were already provisions under the IPC to put a check on forcible conversions.
