The 30-year-old Paper Chasers star, real name Kevin Gilyard, was onstage at Rumor's Nite Club in Lakeland, Florida last year when audience member Miranda Dixon reportedly tugged at his shorts mid-performance.
In video footage of the incident, Gates appeared to strike the woman in her abdomen with his foot, and police subsequently filed a criminal complaint against him.
According to TMZ, a jury of six women took just two hours of deliberation before finding Gates guilty of battery and sentencing him to 180 days in a Polk County jail and one year probation.
