Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday inaugurated a 4,000 seating capacity stadium in Lower Subansiri district, officials said.
The stadium has been named after Padi Yubbe, the first cabinet minister from the Apatani community.
He also unveiled a statue of Yubbe and paid tributes to him, they said.
"It is befitting that the stadium has been named after one of the most luminous sons of the soil, Padi Yubbe," Khandu said.
He said the stadium was third in the state to be completed after the ones at Pasighat and Daporijo.
"Other big stadiums are in various stages of completion at Chimpu near Itanagar, Aalo and Tezu," he said.
