Konkan Railway introduces 'shravan seva' scheme for elderly

Konkan Railway has introduced "Shravan Seva" service for senior citizens travelling on its route which envisages providing an attendant to carry their luggage at boarding and alighting points free of cost.
"This facility can be availed by sending an SMS four hours in advance of their journey, indicating their PNR, coach and seat numbers on mobile phone number 09664044456," Siddheshwar Telugu, GM (administration) and chief PRO, said in a release today.
These services are available at Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Thivim, Karmali and Madgaon stations.
