Opposition parties Congress and INLD today came down heavily on the BJP government in the state over the abduction of a woman student from a Gurgaon college, saying law and order was worsening in the state.
"The law and order machinery in Haryana has broken down. Law breakers are ruling the roost and such daring incidents are taking place without any fear of law," senior Haryana Congress leader and former minister, Geeta Bhukkal alleged.
She said the crime graph under the BJP government was on the rise and on daily basis one gets to hear news of kidnapping, murder, rape, crimes against Dalits and others.
"The government opens women's police stations, but fails to ensure security of women," Bhukkal said.
Main opposition INLD's state unit president Ashok Arora also hit out at the Manohar Lal Khattar government over alleged poor law and order situation.
"What happened in Gurgaon today was shocking. It is not an isolated incident, but in recent times, there have been several incidents of rape, murder, kidnapping, besides crimes of various other nature," Arora said.
A woman student was abducted outside a Gurgaon college by four persons this morning, but was freed within hours after the shocking incident was captured by CCTV cameras.
