World billiards champion Sourav Kothari secured his berth in the last-32 of the IBSF World 6 Red Snooker Championship in Marsa Alam, Egypt on Thursday.
Kothari topped his group with 3 out of 3 wins in the best of 7 encounters in each match against George Hanna of Egypt (4-3), Walid Mohsen of Egypt (4-0) and Alijalli Ali of Iraq (4-3).
In the first knockout round (round of 64), Sourav posted a facile 4-0 win this morning against the talented Abdelrahman Shahin of Egypt.
In the round of 32, Kothari will take on Chau Hong Man of Hong Kong.
A total of 127 players were divided into 30 groups for the league stage of the Championship.
