Kumbabishekam performed at Ramanathaswamy temple

The kumbabishekam at the historic temple of Sri Ramanathaswamy here was performed today.
About two lakhs devotees witnessed the function.
Basic requirements including food and water have been provided for the devotees.
After the consecration, pilgrims were allowed to offer worship. But the theerthams to take holy bath, would be open only tomorrow.

Thekumbabishekam at Srivilliputhur Andal temple was also performed today.

The prists, who took 27 kalsams to the top of the temple tower and they made 27 yagams and special poojas there.
About, 25,000 devotees participated in the function.
It is believed to be the birth place of two of the Azhwars, namely Periazhwar and his foster daughter Andal.
