API S A Mane of Daighar police station said the arrested accused identified as Gulab Hiralal Nishad alias Bindh (32) suspected his wife of having extra marital affairs and he used to torture her.
The accused used to get drunk and beat her almost everyday. As a result, his wife Guddi Bindh hanged herself to the ceiling of their house in Tembi Pada hamlet of Desai village yesterday, police said.
Her body has been sent for post mortem and based on a complaint given by one of the neighbours of Bindh, police arrested him, who worked as a mason.
