The minister was here to open the headquarters of BJD legal cell at Markat Nagar and while he was entering the city through Naraj Road, some youths pelted eggs to his car near Biren Mitra Park.
Confirming the report, a senior police officer said the eggs missed the minister's car but one of them hit the accompanying police escort vehicle.
Police said the miscreants fled from the spot which was dark.
The minister, however, went ahead with his scheduled programme, the police officer said.
