Taking weak cues from overseas markets and subdued domestic demand, lead fell 0.29 per cent to Rs 135.45 per kg in futures trade today as participants reduced exposures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in September shed 40 paise, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 135.45 per kg in a business turnover of 280 lots.
In a similar manner, the metal for delivery in October eased by 35 paise, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 136.30 per kg in a volume of 13 lots.
Market analysts said besides subdued demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange as an official gauge of China's industrial activity dropped for the first time in six months, weighed on lead futures here.
