Liquor shop salesman killed over poll-related rivalry

A 40-year-old salesman of a liquor shop was allegedly beaten to death by the husband of a Gram Pradhan poll candidate over poll-related rivalry here, police said today.
Salesman Sheshpati was beaten by lathis leading to his death last night at Sarai Sangrampur village under Lalganj police station, they said.
On the complaint of family members, a case was registered against Suresh Narayan Tripathi, whose wife is contesting for the post of pradhan in the Gram Panchayat elections, police said.
A member of the deceased family is also contesting the election, they said, adding that investigations are on.
