Locals assembled near NH-91 and blocked the highway, causing a traffic snarl for several hours, police said.
The bodies of 55-year-old catering firm owner Ramesh and his son Rajkumar were found in a field in the Dadri area of Greater Noida on Friday morning.
Ramesh and Rajkumar were murdered by four persons who had taken them to Dadri on the pretext of showing them the venue for a wedding. After killing the duo, the accused dumped their bodies in nearby forest area.
Police suspect that the murders were committed over personal enmity.
"When senior police officials intervened into the matter, angry locals called off protest. Noida police is investigating the case and accused would be arrested soon," said a senior Ghaziabad police officer said.
