Nirupam, who was asked by BJP to explain the alleged omission, could not be contacted for his reaction despite several attempts.
Bhandari said in a statement that Nirupam did not disclose the information in the affidavit filed with his nomination papers for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, which he was contesting as a candidate from the Mumbai North constituency.
Last week, Congress had alleged that Maharashtra education minister Vinod Tawde was a director of a private firm and that amounted to a conflict of interest. Tawde had said he was just an honorary director and received no salary.
According to Bhandari, Nirupam's wife Geeta is a director with a private company. She was a director of the company since it was set up on July 13, 2011, the BJP leader claimed.
He said Tawde had not done anything illegal and provided all the relevant information in his election affidavit but Nirupam levelled baseless allegations against the minister and led a protest march to his house.
