The film, starring Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles, is based on the life of Aligarh Muslim University professor Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was suspended because of his sexual orientation. He was later found dead in his room.
"'Aligarh': A brave film by a brave filmmaker! An outstanding starcast," Bhatt, 67, wrote and retweeted Mehta's post which announced that film's trailer has crossed 1.75 million views on Youtube.
The "Saaransh" director earlier presented Mehta's film "CityLights".
"Raaz Reboot" is the fourth instalment in the horror
The subsequent parts starred Kangana Ranaut and Bipasha, with Emraan as the hero.
Bhatt feels the "Azhar" actor is more mature today than when he started his career more than a decade ago.
"I think we have a new Emraan now. He is far more mature, subtle, but at the same time far more effective as an actor. He has had enough experience in life and now he is more assured about how he projects himself, unlike what he was in his formative years."
"Raaz Reboot" is helmed by Vikram Bhatt, who, except for the second instalment, has directed rest of the parts of the horror franchise.
"If the franchise hadn't given us so much in the last 14 years, we wouldn't be green lighting it and making it today."
'Raaz Reboot' is an attempt to realign the franchise with changing taste of audience in the digital age. We have shot it in a new fashion, we have tried to set the bar high," he added.
Also starring Gaurav Arora, "Raaz Reboot" is scheduled to release on September 16.
