Thousands of people, including Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, today attended Friday prayers for the safety of a missing airliner and people on board.
Razak attended the prayers for the Malaysia Airlines aircraft - that went missing nearly a week ago - at the Sultan Abdul Samad Mosque near Kuala Lumpur international airport here.
Several Cabinet ministers also attended the prayers, state-run Bernama news agency reported.
Thousands gathered at Malayia's National Mosque today as special prayers were said for the passengers.
Ustaz Rahimi Abdul Aziz, while delivering a sermon at the Sultan Abdul Samad Mosque, advised the people to remain calm and not manipulate the situation by disseminating false news through media.
Beijing-bound MAS Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew from Kuala Lumpur, went missing last Saturday during the flight.
A massive multinational search, involving over 80 aircraft and ships, entered its seventh day today without any sign of the aircraft.
