Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Maliwal has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Praveen Mishra seeking the closure of the vend and have cited law and order problem and violations of the Delhi Excise Rules, 2010.
DCW had received a complaint from a group of women representing 'Sarthak Shiksha Samiti' on the issue.
"Please find attached the deatiled report submitted by the concerned SDM, which confirms the law and order issue and the violation of excise rules.
The Commission, after receiving the complaint, had sought a status report on the vend from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
According to the SDM's report, a temple is situated at a distance of only 19 meters from the wine shop and the distance between the mosque and the liqour vend is also approximately 58 meters.
