Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today blamed the Centre for increasing the prices of medicines, specially those of cancer and diabetes.
"The Centre has suddenly increased the prices. Cancer medicines which was earlier available at Rs 7,000-8,000 now costs a lakh. Every house has one patient of diabetes but the prices of medicines have increased so much," Banerjee said at a programme at the state-run SSKM hospital here.
"This is inhuman. I condemn this," she added.
