Police said that Surjit Singh was booked under the provisions of the Explosives Act and further investigations were under progress.
The grenades were recovered from him at village Vella under Fatehgarh Churian police station.
Singh, who was catching fish from the village pond had found these grenades near the spot and subsequently hidden them there, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kripal Singh said.
The DSP said that about 10 days back Surjit had dug out these grenades from the spot where he had hidden them. A villager had noticed these grenades in his possession and informed the police about it.
The DSP also said that a team of bomb defusal experts was arriving from Jalandhar here tomorrow to defuse the grenades.
