Man assaults sister-in-law after she spurns his advances

A man here allegedly thrashed his sister-in-law and chopped off her hair when she spurned his advances, police said today.
The 32-year-old woman, a resident of Gopalpurwa under Panki police station area, has accused her brother-in-law Sanjay of keeping her hostage at his sister's place on the pretext of providing treatment to her ailing son, they said.
However, Sanjay, later confined them to his sister's home where the woman alleged, he tried to forcibly have physical relations with her after giving her a laced drink.
This went on till September 1 until she managed to get Sanjay's mobile and called her husband Ramkishore and narrated her ordeal to him.
When Sanjay got to know about the incident, he thrashed her and chopped off her hair using a blade.
Meanwhile, Rajkishore arrived there and rushed his wife to hospital and informed the police about the incident.
Based on the complaint of the woman, Sanjay, his sister, and her husband Brijpal were booked under relevant sections, the police spokesperson said, adding the investigation into the matter is on.
