A 60-year-old man was today attacked and seriously injured by a tiger in Dudhwa forests in Belrayan range here, police said.
The incident took place near Majhgain range of north Kheri division where Madhuvan had gone to offer prayers at a temple when the tiger attacked him leaving him injured, they said.
He was rescued by the villagers and rushed to the district hospital after which he was shifted to Lucknow.
Deputy Director of Dudhwa Mahavir Kaujlagi said, "it is yet to be confirmed if the wild animal was a big cat or some other animal."
"Belrayan range officer has been sent to the spot to probe the matter," he added.
