Man booked for harassing wife to have relations with other men

A 43-year-old man who allegedly harassed his wife (39) physically and mentally to get her to have sexual relations with other men, has been booked, the police said here today.
Senior police inspector S L Daule of Kolsewadi police station told PTI that the husband had initially demanded land which was owned by his wife's mother.
Later, he took her ornaments valued at Rs 2.28 lakh on the pretext that he would mortgage them and open a fixed deposit in a bank from the proceeds.
Eventually, he allegedly began harassing his wife to have physical relations with other men, which she refused.

He also asked her to divorce him but his wife did not oblige him.
His mental harassment and beatings continued unabated from 2012 until the end of May 2014, the complaint lodged by his wife stated.
The police booked the man, whose name has not been revealed, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the police said.
