A 60-year-old man was today booked for allegedly killing his wife with a sickle during an argument, police said.
Accused Vinod Jha, during an argument with his wife Malti at their Kamathghar residence in Bhiwandi, slit her throat with a sickle, police said.
"The incident happened between 8am and 10am yesterday. He fled the scene after bolting the house from outside. The accused's son and mother had gone out at the time and they discovered the crime when they reached home," an official said.
Based on his son's complaint, Narpoli police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, he informed.
