The incident took place on Sunday and the accused Kunwar Lal, whom a local court had granted bail in the rape case last month, was arrested last night, they said.
However, his two accomplices -- Mahendra Yadav and Bhagwan Yadav are still at large.
In her complaint, the woman said that the accused cut her fingers as she refused to enter into a written comprise to put an end to his criminal prosecution in the rape case.
"Kunwar had allegedly raped the woman in October 2014 and the trial in the case is on. A local court had granted bail to him last month," he said.
After his release from prison, the accused started demanding that the victim and her family enter into a compromise in a bid to put an end to his criminal prosecution or else face dire consequences, the inspector said.
She said the police failed to act even as she had complained that Kunwar was threatening here.
"Had the police acted on my complaint that Kunwar was threatening me of dire consequences, he and his two accomplices would not have chopped off my fingers," she said.
