Man gets death for raping & killing his minor daughter

A local court today awarded death penalty to a man for raping and murdering his 13-year-old daughter three years back.
District and Sessions Judge Devendra Singh Solanki awarded the death sentence to Mahatlal Sanodia (42) for raping and murdering his daughter.
The incident had taken place on the intervening night of January 25 and 26 in 2013, when she was alone at home at Dhutera village under Keolari Police Station area in the district.
"At the time of the incident, the victim's mother had gone to her parents' place along with their younger daughter," Deputy Director of Prosecution, Narendra Singh Uike, said.

Mahatlal had strangled the victim after raping her. When other villagers came to know about the incident, they informed the police, following which he was arrested, Uike said.
On the basis of DNA tests and circumstantial evidence, the court awarded death sentence under section 302 (murder), 376 (rape) of IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against Mahatlal.
