"The accused- Rohit Choudhary- had, on August 23, posted a message on WhatsApp along with the woman's photo that she had run away from her house and whoever finds her, will not only be able to marry her, but her parents would also give him 50 acres land," additional superintendent of police (ASP) Amrendra Singh said.
Acting on a complaint by the woman, police laid a trap and arrested Choudhary, who works in a share-brokerage firm.
Irked over her decision, he decided to defame her. Therefore, he posted an objectionable message on a WhatsApp group; police said adding that further investigation is underway.
