Ramji Sharan Sharma, who had visited an area in the city yesterday to look into alleged land grab cases in response to a government order, was threatened of life and prevented from performing his official duties by the accused Balbir Singh Chauhan, they said.
Chauhan was arrested this morning from the Nepali farm area after a complaint was filed against him by the SDM.
A number of land grab and criminal cases have been registered against the accused, who enjoys the backing of some influential politicians, the SDM alleged.
