The accused has been identified as Prakash, a resident of Uttarakhand.
He came to Ghaziabad to sell the leopard skin to someone, who is yet to be identified, they said.
"Police got information that a poacher was coming towards Dasna Crossing last night. A trap was laid and he was arrested. A leopard skin, with a market cost of around Rs 20 lakh, was seized from his possession," said a senior police official.
Police said Prakash and his uncle, identified as Magan Singh, killed a leopard a few days back and came here to sell its skin.
"Police are investigating if he has links with some poaching gang. We are interrogating Prakash about the location of his uncle, who would be arrested soon," the official added.
