Vikas Shrivastava had abducted Anuj, son of local transporter Ashok Parihar and took him away in his car under Aerodrome police station area on April 29, Additional Superintendent of Police Rupesh Kumar Dwivedi told reporters.
He said Shrivastava tried to murder Anuj when he came to know that the police were on his trail.
He attacked Anuj with stone and tried to strangulate him, but the latter managed to escape, the ASP said.
"We have registered a case and further investigations are on," Dwivedi added.
