The accused, identified as one Sheetal, worked as a cook in 'Nadi Kinara' hotel in Murbad, while his uncle Ramesh Gaikwad worked there as a waiter.
According to police, Ramesh had a habit of drinking and the duo used to frequently argue over this and other issues.
"Sheetal was fed up of his uncle's behaviour and wanted to bring the troubles to an end. Around 2 AM today, when Gaikwad was asleep inside their room, Sheetal took up a chopper attacked him, in which the victim died," police said.
Gaikwad's body has been sent for postmortem, police said.
