: A 29-year-old man, who was picked up allegedly in connection with a theft case, today died in custody, the police said.
Premchand (29) died due to health problems, the Cyberabad police said.
He had liver problem and suffered heart stroke, thepolice said dismissing reports as rumours spreading in some social media groups that a "lockup death" had taken place at Sanath Nagar Police station.
Clarifying that it was "custodial death", police said he was suffering from ill-health for many days.
While police was taking him to recover "property", he died following stroke at Bhongir, a statement fromCyberabad PoliceCommissionerate said.
Further details will be known after post-mortem, it said.
