Amit Jha, who consumed poison on January 20, yesterday died at a Mumbai hospital.
Jha is the brother of Vikas Jha, who had tried to set himself ablaze in November last year inside the office of a Deputy Superintendent of Police, police had said.
Amit Jha had alleged that police did not take any action in the case involving his brother and hence consumed poison.
A senior police official said a case under relevant section of the Indian Penal Code was been registered against four persons including the Police Inspector of Virar police station Yunus Shaikh for abetting Amit Jha's suicide.
