Man sentenced to 8 months in jail under NDPS Act

A man has been sentenced to eight months imprisonment by a local court here for possessing 50 grams of diazepam drug in 2014.
Mohan alias Amar Singh was yesterday convicted under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act by Additional Sessions Judge Ajay Tyagi who also imposed a fine of Rs 2000.
The court sentenced him to eight months imprisonment, which he has already undergone in jail, and considered his plea that he be released.
According to prosecution, the convict was arrested on November 26, 2014 with 50 grams of diazepam from Kotwali police station area.
