A 34-year-old man was shot at allegedly by two men over property-related dispute, in east Delhi's Jagatpuri area, police said today.
The victim, Ajay Garg, was found lying in a pool of blood with bullet injury outside his shop on April 16, they said, adding he was rushed to a private hospital.
Garg was unable to recall about the shooter as he had been shot from behind, police said.
Police team collected a total of 15 CCTV footages from the victim's shop to his house.
During scrutiny of the CCTV footages, it was noticed that a man on a blue scooter had been following the victim on the day of the incident, they said.
It was further seen that the same scooter was parked outside a provision store adjacent to the victim's shop before the incident was reported, police said.
Police said on investigating the scooter was found to be of one Aakash, son of the owner of the provision shop adjacent to Garg's shop.
He was found to be absconding and was traced to Uttarakhand.
On the basis of inputs, raids were conducted last night and Aakash was arrested while he had gone to meet one of his associates at a market in Krishna Nagar, police said, adding his associate was later identified as Mohammad Javed.
Aakash told police that he and his father had been running a provision store and had given the adjacent shop on rent to the Garg's father 30 years ago.
However, Garg and his father refused to pay rent five years ago. He said they had many arguments with them but never reported the matter to the police, police officials said.
He claimed they felt humiliated about the non-payment of the rent, so planned to kill Garg, for which he acquired the gun from Javed, they said.
Police said the accused were not involved in any crimes in the past.
