Child Development Maneka Gandhi today paid a courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel, who spoke about steps being taken by the BJP government for empowerment of women in the state.
The minister met Patel in the capital city of Gandhinagar. During the meeting, Patel told Gandhi about steps taken by Gujarat Government for empowerment of women, an official release said.
The chief minister listed measures like 33 per cent reservation for women in police force, organising self-defence training camps, providing assistance to female cattle rearers and preparing 'gender budget', among others, it said.
