Manipur first state in NE region to take up EFT

: Manipur became the first state in the entire Northeast to introduce Electronic Fund Transfer for government payments in a big way.
According to a press release issued today by the Directorate of Information and Public, the EFT would be implemented by means of the Electronic Clearing Services (Credit) of Reserve Bank of India.
Other forms of electronic payments like the Regional Electronic Celaring System of payments for salaries & pensions, National Electronic Fund Transfer, Real Time Gross Settlement and Cash Management of SBI have been successfully introduced in the state, said the release.
